  Description: Every Wednesday at 9:00 AM a group of BCCCSB friends meets for a run on the track next to the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, at the corner of Aviation Blvd and Manhattan Beach Blvd.  When we do an alternate run in Manhattan Beach or Palos Verdes, we send notifications by What’s App and the BCCCSB newsletter.

  We run or walk laps at our own paces, and we finish by 10:00 AM. We also enjoy participating together in local races such as the Redondo Beach Super Bowl 10K, the Manhattan Beach 10K and the Griffith Park Relay. Please come join us - the track offers free, ample parking, restrooms and water fountains.

  Description:  This L3+ (17 MPH  to 20 MPH) ride starts at the base of the Manhattan Beach Pier by the Life Guard station, and then heads north up to the Marina del Rey Bridge. The group then heads east on the Ballona Creek Bike Path, terminating at the Centinela Ave turnaround point, returning past the bridge to the Playa Del Rey Lagoon bathrooms. The group then does a loop around Westchester Parkway with possible sprints in both directions.  

  Some riders will sprint and we regroup several times, allowing for multiple fitness levels (L3+, L2 & L1) to do the ride together. If you're not a sprinter, don't worry - everyone waits at the regroup point.
  

  Regroups: Ballona Creek bridge & Playa Del Rey Lagoon bathrooms.  Final regroup at the intersection of Pershing and Westchester Parkway before heading south for coffee and refreshments at Cafe Bonaparte's on Pier Ave in Hermosa Beach.

  The Tuesday ride varies by design. If you want novelty, this is your ride. Routes vary between ~35-55 miles, 1000-3000 feet of climbing, typically in the middle third of the distance range (41-49 miles). If we go to an eating place, expect a "digestion pace" on the return.
  
  Often there is a destination (a vista point, climb, point of interest, etc). We often go to places that would be crowded on a weekend (eg, Hollywood Sign, Inspiration Point, Porto's, etc). We are usually done by 1-2pm, and a coffee or meal stop is customary (usually at the end; sometimes that's the destination).

  This week, we ride a simple but beautiful route.  We head north through Santa Monica and up Westridge to the Mandeville Fire Road.  After a rest stop at the Nike Missile Control Site, we head across dirt Mulholland and down Sullivan Ridge Fire Road.  When we get to the paved part of Sullivan Ridge you'll have the option of trying a newly discovered, mile long singletrack.

  Starting with the regular Thursday ride at MB Pier, we'll stay with (or behind) them until they turn around at Centinela.  We'll exit the bike path and head into Playa Vista for a rest stop, then onto the Bluff Creek Trail.  This is 2 miles long and mostly paved, but many sections are covered with dirt or sand.  We do a couple miles of road, hop onto a short sandy segment, then back to the beach, and south to the coffee shop.  This route is suitable for all abilities.  A gravel bike or mountain bike is recommended, but you can do it with a road bike and a good attitude.

  Starting with the regular Thursday ride at MB Pier, we'll stay with (or behind) them until they turn around at Centinela.  We'll exit the bike path and head into Playa Vista for a rest stop, then onto the Bluff Creek Trail.  This is 2 miles long and mostly paved, but many sections are covered with dirt or sand.  We do a couple miles of road, hop onto a short sandy segment, then back to the beach, and south to the coffee shop.  This route is suitable for all abilities.  A gravel bike or mountain bike is recommended, but you can do it with a road bike and a good attitude.
