Century of the Month (COM) to Reagan Library-Ojai-Ventura - 7:30am start

February’s Century of the Month is a new route for BCCCSB, with a President’s Day weekend theme.  The ride starts at Rancho Madera Community Park in Simi Valley.  We depart the park at 7:30 am and begin a short climb to The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.  From there, the route winds through Moorpark, up Grimes Canyon (a short climb with some beautiful views), and then heads down the canyon across the Santa Clara River into Fillmore.  From there we ride through Santa Paula and make the long climb up to the world’s famous Summit Café.  We then ride through Ojai, known for being a picturesque city escape just north of Los Angeles, against the dramatic backdrop of the beautiful Topatopa Mountains. Our course then descends and meanders the tree-lined Ojai Valley Bike Trail to Ventura.  After a short ride through the sea-side town, we ride along the Pacific Ocean on the Ventura Promenade.  Riding back inland the group will travel through suburban Oxnard into the Oxnard Plain with its’ farms of celery, strawberries, chile peppers.  The ride returns to Semi Valley via Camarillo with one last climb up through the Santa Rosa Valley.
