Bundy Canyon is a staple of our club routes. Mt. St Mary's University is a variant where we first go up to the University. The last 1/2 mile to the upper parking lot is a 280 ft climb. This short but steep climb is optional, but most riders do it. The upper lot is also the entry to Mt. St Mary's Fire Road, an additional 1.3 mile and 436 ft climb which takes one to the Mountain Gate community. We won't do that on this ride, but will gauge interest for a future ride.
Pace : L2 Ride start is 9am, at the plaza just south of Captain Kidd's The Tuesday ride varies by design. If you want novelty, this is your ride. Routes vary between ~35-55 miles, 1000-3000 feet of climbing, typically in the middle third of the distance range (41-49 miles). If we go to an eating place, expect a "digestion pace" on the return. We often go to places that would otherwise be too crowded on a weekend (eg, Hollywood Sign, Inspiration Point, Porto's, etc). We are usually done by 1-2pm, and a coffee or meal stop is customary (usually at the end; sometimes that's the destination).
