A tour of Jacaranda street trees in Culver City, West LA, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica. This will be a fairly easy and flat ride. We take the Ballona Creek path to Syd K park, then ride in neighborhood streets through the above cities. Normally we ride this in May or early June, but 2026 is an early bloom year.

We will stop to take pictures at particularly inspiring sites - just call it out if you want to stop to take a picture. I used the publicly available TreeKeeper  and jacarandamap.com databases to research the locations of Jacaranda street trees. We are trying an improved route this year - more jacarandas!

The LA Explorer ride varies by design. If you want novelty, this is your ride. Routes vary between ~35-55 miles, 1000-3000 feet of climbing, typically in the middle third of the distance range (41-49 miles). If we go to an eating place, expect a "digestion pace" on the return.

We often go to places that would otherwise be too crowded on a weekend (eg, Hollywood Sign, Porto's, etc). We are usually done by 1-2pm, and a coffee or meal stop is customary (usually at the end; sometimes that's the destination).
