BCCCSB Hill Climb Day, La Rotunda to the Domes
Ride Leaders: Bob Kellogg and Tom Aaker
You are invited to join ride leaders Bob Kellogg and Tom Aaker for an Everesting-style hill climbing day where we ride up and down the segment "La Rotunda to the Domes" as many times as we can. Each round trip is 8.5 miles and 1,100 feet. The bottom of La Rotunda is a convenient starting point with a parking lot, restroom and water. We will start by 7AM and go as long as we can stand it. Come out and do repeats or just stop by for a lap or two. The 29,032 ft elevation of Mt Everest might be out of reach using this particular segment, but there are plenty of other peaks you can use for inspiration. Here's a few suggestions:
Denali - 20,310 ft
Mt Whitney - 14,505 ft
Mt Fiji - 12,388 ft
Haleakala - 10,030 ft
Col du Galibier - 8,668 ft
Mt Wilson - 5,710 ft
