We ride up the coast and stop mid-ride at the coffee shop at Cross Creek - either Malibu Market or Blue Bottle cafe, depending on the wait. This is a flat ride, with occasional small rollers. We last rode this route in June 2025. Based on prior ride times and accounting for planned stops and red lights, the ride may last about 5-5 1/2 hours
Note: This could be a very sobering ride, if you have not yet seen first hand the coastal destruction from the Palisades fires. There are new ocean views - at the expense of someone's home. Critically, this ride demands that you be able to ride in a group pace line, 18-19 mph in the lane; if you can't do that, please sit this ride out.
55.3 mi, 970 ft, Malibu Cross Creek - Ride Leader : Mario
Pace : L2 Ride start is 9am, at the plaza just south of Captain Kidd's The Tuesday ride varies by design. If you want novelty, this is your ride. Routes vary between ~35-55 miles, 1000-3000 feet of climbing, typically in the middle third of the distance range (41-49 miles). If we go to an eating place, expect a "digestion pace" on the return. Often there is a destination (a vista point, climb, point of interest, etc). We often go to places that would be crowded on a weekend (eg, Hollywood Sign). We are usually done by 1-2pm, and a coffee or meal stop is customary (usually at the end; sometimes that's the destination).
